Been MIA for a while

Alright, I’ve been out of the loop for a while.  Someone has introduced me to a distraction that has taken me away from my geekiness.  I purchased a Digital Rebel from a friend and tinkering around with it has become my latest distraction.  I’m excusing myself, however, because it still runs on one’s and zero’s and I’ve always claimed that as the requirement for my interest in anything.

It’s kind of sad that I didn’t check in to www.pocketpcthoughts.com and www.pocketpctools.com until after 10:00 this morning!  :^)

On the other hand, I had caught up on www.dpreview.com, www.fredmiranda.com, and www.digitalmediathoughts.com well before then.

Truth be known, I have been into photography for a very long time.  I just haven’t had a capable camera in some time.  It’s fun to get back into the world of photography without having to spend a fortune on developing and wait for the results.  The question now becomes whether this is going to be a passing interest or will it last?

I didn't know you got a Digital Rebel - I'm so jealous! :-) I've been wanting one of those for a long time. How do you like it so far? I've wanted to learn how to do decent photography for a while now. I figure once I break down and buy a Digital Rebel, I'll probably take a class at PCC, or something, as well as go over all of the tips and information available online.

Keep me updated on your new hobby!

Oh, and congrats on your second blog post! Keep it up - you'll get addicted sooner or later. ;-)

We got a good deal on the camera, so that helps, but the first real round of pictures turned out just amazing. You can check out some of the images at http://www.jarvisfam.net/honeyman/

All of these images have been resized (and one of them got really messed up with something I did). They give you a feel for what even a rookie can do with the camera though!
